2nd Story Associates

THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE FOR SOMEONE’S SECOND STORY.

2nd Story Associates was born out of recognition of the growing need for quality affordable housing and supportive services in Santa Barbara. 2nd Story collaborates to create affordable housing in the Santa Barbara community. These developments seek to enhance the quality of life of low-income families, seniors and disabled individuals with an emphasis on promoting stability and self-sufficiency.

Our Work in 2022

Together with you, we are helping families and vulnerable members of our community connect with critical resources that will enable them to experience safety, stability, and a good quality of life. Resident lives are transformed by the support and stability of affordable housing and related services. We are proud of our efforts to strengthen our community and are grateful for many new opportunities on the horizon.

In 2022, 2nd Story Associates provided 23 households with gently used furniture, provided 15 new beds to senior and disabled clients, served 230 clients at our mobile food pantry, distributed 42,255 lbs. of food throughout this year, distributed 450 backpacks filled with school supplies to local youth, 17 graduates completed the Family Self-Sufficiency Program & much more!

2nd Story Associates & Women's Fund of Santa Barbara

2nd Story Associates were the recipients of a $50,000 grant from the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara to provide furnishings for the new residents of Vera Cruz Village. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara opened Vera Cruz Village, a 28-unit affordable housing project that serves the special needs and formerly homeless populations of our community.

Vera Cruz Village is an important response to the critical need for affordable housing in our community and this grant provided meaningful support towards these efforts. As residents transition from long-term homelessness into a stable home environment, providing affordable apartments outfitted with household furnishings is essential. 2nd Story Associates is extremely grateful and appreciative of the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara’s support.
